Everything on this page is about Evoltir Roadmap. If something here does not match what you see on screen, trust the screen.
Your first roadmap in 3 minutes
When you sign in, your roadmap opens straight away. There is no list page and no menu to hunt through: the roadmap is the screen.
The first time, you will see two things:
- A Time window bar with two dates. It starts one month before today and ends two months after.
- One empty row called Phase 1. A phase is a labelled row. It stays empty until you put something in it.
Then, in order:
- Name the row. Double-click Phase 1 and type something real, like "Design".
- Add a bar. Right-click the row where you want it to start and choose New task starting with that date. Drag the ends to change the dates, drag the middle to move the whole bar.
- Give it a name. Double-click the bar, type the name and press Enter. Click the bar once to open its panel with Label and the dates, then Save.
- Add a milestone. Same panel, set Type to Milestone. A milestone is a single date and shows as a diamond instead of a bar.
- Add more rows. Add phase, below the chart.
- Fit the window. Change the two dates in the Time window bar, or press Auto-fit to fit the window around what you have.
That is a roadmap. Nothing here has a Save button of its own — the chart saves as you go.
Two things worth knowing early:
- Dependencies. Right-click a bar and choose Define dependency, then click the bar that comes after it. An arrow links the two. The same right-click menu lists the arrows that bar already has, each with a button to break it.
- Status. There is no separate status field. A bar shows progress through its actual dates: open the bar and fill in the actual start and end next to the planned ones.
Generate a roadmap with AI
Part of Pro. Describe the roadmap in a sentence or two and you get a draft to look at before anything is saved.
Press Generate with AI above the chart. Write what the roadmap is for, in the language you want it in — a German description gives you a German roadmap. You can be brief ("a 24-month automotive development roadmap from award to SOP") or precise, listing the milestones and their dates.
Dates you name are kept. If you write "SOP: 1 March 2029", the milestone lands on 1 March 2029 and the rest of the plan is built around it. The preview lists every milestone and says whether the date came from your prompt or was proposed for you, so you can see at a glance what was decided for you. If your description says nothing about when the work starts, the Start date field in the dialog is used instead.
Then you choose: Create turns the draft into a real roadmap, Edit prompt takes you back to your description to try again, and Cancel throws the draft away. Nothing is written until you press Create.
What you get is an ordinary roadmap. Drag the bars, rename anything, add and delete rows, export it to PowerPoint — it behaves exactly like one you drew yourself, because it is one.
If the roadmap you are looking at is still empty, the draft fills it. If it already has content, you get a new roadmap and the one you were on is left alone.
How many. Pro includes 30 generations a month; the dialog shows how many you have left. Only generations that produce a roadmap count — if the AI fails to produce a usable one, you are not charged for it. The allowance resets on the 1st.
The AI writes a draft; it does not know your company, your suppliers or your other roadmaps, and it can be wrong. Read the assumptions it lists beside the preview before you press Create.
How do I…
Add phases, tasks and milestones
- A phase is a row. Add phase under the chart adds one; double-click its name to rename it; drag it up or down to reorder.
- A task is a bar inside a row. Right-click the row at the date you want and choose New task starting.
- A milestone is a single date in a row. Make one by adding a task, then setting Type to Milestone in the panel that opens when you click it.
- To delete a bar, open it and press Delete, or hover it and press the Delete key.
Switch, create, duplicate, rename or delete a roadmap
Switching, creating and duplicating sit in the row of roadmap names under the title. Renaming and deleting sit in the bar at the very top of the screen, next to the roadmap's name.
- Switch — click another roadmap's name.
- Create — + New roadmap.
- Duplicate — Duplicate copies the open roadmap with all its phases and bars. Dependencies are not copied yet.
- Rename — click the name in the bar at the very top of the screen and type over it.
- Delete — the bin icon next to that name. This cannot be undone.
On Free you can have two roadmaps at a time. See Free vs. Pro.
Change the time window
The Time window bar above the chart has a start date and an end date. Type into either one.
- Auto-fit sets the window around everything you have drawn.
- The small label next to the dates says Manual window when you set the dates yourself and Auto-computed when the chart works them out.
- Weekends shades Saturdays and Sundays on and off.
- Today and the arrows ‹ › at the right of the bar scroll the chart. They change nothing.
Import a plan from another tool
Import from Excel, XML or Microsoft Project is not available yet.
What does exist on Pro is AI Import Roadmap: upload a customer schedule as a PDF, check the dates it read, and it draws a first version for you. You can change everything afterwards.
Export to PowerPoint
Export to PPT above the chart downloads your roadmap as a .pptx file. It is a real slide with real shapes, so you can move things around in PowerPoint afterwards.
The Export style dropdown beside the button picks the look:
- Boardroom — clean, executive. Available on every plan.
- Cockpit — colourful, detailed. Pro only.
On Free the slide carries a small "Created with Evoltir Roadmap" line. On Pro it does not. Nothing else about the export differs.
The button is greyed out until the roadmap has at least one phase.
Change your plan
Account in the menu at the top right, then the Plan section — or press Upgrade in the top bar. The section shows what you are on now and what each plan includes. See Free vs. Pro.
If you picked Pro or Team on evoltir.com, you arrive in this section with that plan and billing period already selected. Nothing is bought until you tick the box and press the button.
Delete your account
Account, then Plan, then Delete account at the bottom. You will have to type your workspace name to confirm. This deletes your roadmaps and your account together, and it cannot be undone.
Free vs. Pro
Free costs nothing. Pro and Team are paid plans: Team is Pro for a workspace you share, with five people included and more seats available. The Plan section of your Account shows the current prices.
| Free | Pro | Team | |
|---|---|---|---|
| People in the workspace | 1 | 1 | 5 included, more per seat |
| Roadmaps at a time | 2 | as many as you like | as many as you like |
| Export to PowerPoint | yes, Boardroom style | yes, Boardroom and Cockpit | yes, Boardroom and Cockpit |
| Line on the exported slide | "Created with Evoltir Roadmap" | none | none |
| Own colours and font sizes | no | yes | yes |
| Generate a roadmap with AI | no | 30 a month | 30 a month per seat, shared by the team |
The Plan section of your Account page has the full comparison and the button to change plan.
FAQ
Why can't I create a third roadmap? Free allows two at a time. Delete one you no longer need, or move to Pro. Deleting is permanent, so export it to PowerPoint first if you want to keep a copy.
Where are my legal texts? Account, then the Legal section: Impressum, Datenschutz and AGB. They are also linked at the bottom of the sign-in and sign-up pages, and they are in German.
Why does my exported slide say "Created with Evoltir Roadmap"? That line is part of the Free plan. It disappears on Pro. See Export to PowerPoint.
I renamed my roadmap. Did that rename the file I exported earlier? No. An export is a file on your computer from the moment you download it. Nothing you do here changes it afterwards.
Can I share a roadmap with a colleague? Not yet. One account, one person. Today the way to share is to export the slide and send that. If your team needs to work in one system, Account → Plan → Upgrade to Evoltir has a Request a conversation button.
Where is the Save button? There isn't one. Everything you change saves immediately. If you drag a bar and change your mind, drag it back.
Why can I only pick the Boardroom style? The Cockpit style is part of Pro. See Export to PowerPoint.
